Bigfoot, the legendary hairy man-like beast said to roam the wildernesses of North America, is not shy, merely so rare it risks extinction and should be protected as an endangered species.
So says Canadian MP Mike Lake who has called for Bigfoot to be protected under Canada's species at risk act. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070502...t_070502173737 |

This reminds me of moves about twenty or so years ago to get the Loch Ness Monster protected. The moves failed because how can you protect something that you don't know exists?
There seems to be more evidence that Bigfoot exists than the Loch Ness Monster, but even so I would have thought that before you can proect something you need to know what you are protecting. |

Tales of a giant, hairy, ape-like creature tramping through the woods are running wild in a northern interior B.C. town after a rash of sasquatch sightings.
There have been three reported sightings in the area within a month. http://www.canada.com/story.html?id=...8-186b6049162b |

*Shrug* I don't think that stopped people from making laws protecting Champ despite the fact that there is no existence of him either. |
