Ears and nose never stop growing

Comment: Someone told me that your ears and nose continuing growing as you
age. I haven't been able to find anything that substantiates this but I
have heard it many times. I figured it was a function of gravity and aging
that your ears and nose seemed bigger (or longer) as you age. I'm in
trouble though - my ears are already plenty big enough!

I thought this was considered common knowledge, and anecdotal evidence seems to back it up. I wonder if it's an old evolutionary adaptation, since hearing and smell (necessary for survival) tend to diminish with age - would larger receptacles for the sensory input help to offset the decrease in sensitivity?
