Icon81 Superman shot at Six Flags

Comment: While at a Six Flags amusement park, my friend noticed they had
DC comic book heroes like Wonder Woman, Batman, Robin, and Flash. He
asked where Superman was. The theme park employee told us that Six Flags
does not use a Superman. He said a 10-year old boy at Six Flags Australia
thought the Superman character was real and shot him. Is this true?

Um, there's NO way it's true.

1--Six Flags doesn't even acknowledge owning a property of any sort in Australia (this can be found at the official website).

2--Superman most certainly IS a character at the Six Flags Theme Parks. Whether ALL the Parks have Superman "performing" every day may be up for grabs, but my "local" Park (Six Flags Over Georgia) advertises "Join Superman, Batman and ALL your Justice League favorites". (I'd be very astonished that a Park employee wouldn't know that Six Flags--in a corporate sense--uses Superman, but to lie about the Australia thing is a bit stupid.)

Now, Six Flags wouldn't be able to have a SuperBOY character since DC's involved in a lawsuit over the rights to the character but, for now, as long as Six Flags and DC have their current agreement, Superman should be available at the Parks (well, at least, as long as they have someone capable of decently fitting the role--admittedly, a bit more problematic than for Batman or Flash).

Wouldn't a ten-year-old be old enough to know Superman wasn't real? And what was he shooting him with? At my local Six Flags (same as BamaRainbow's), you have to pass through a metal detector to get in.

A normal ten-year-old, probably. But not everyone is normal.

How many normal 10 year olds pack heat?

That sounds too much like the scene in "Hollywoodland" where the actor that played superman had to "talk down" a kid from shooting him with a gun. I think the line he used was, "Think of the person it might kill when it bounced off me...".

If you want to get picky, nothing in the description given in the OP says the 10-year-old brought a gun with him to the park. Someone else might have handed it to him and urged him to shoot Superman with it, for example.

I'm also thinking of the movie "Unbreakable", where Bruce Willis's character has to talk down his son.
