I'm sure that the frequency and duration of power outages in any country is a factor of where one lives. The US appears to have more power outages because we have a large number of people living in rural areas. Its also a factor of population. The US 40 times the population that Switzerland does. 40 times the number of power outages would seem like a lot more even thought it would actually signal parity.

I've lived in my house for 30 years and only had a power outage more than a minute or two twice.
