There is a reason the classics are classics. It's like when Paul Williams was asked if the Carpenters were too 'vanilla', and he replied "and isn't vanilla a wonderful flavor?" It's fun to have the occasional adventure, but a good solid comfortable go-to is good to have - satisfying on multiple levels. I remember Julia Child making a classic simple hamburger, and commenting as she tasted it how fundamentally satisfying a basic burger is.

eta: I think I have the Williams quote a little off, but that's the gist.
