A bit late to post this, but surely the 'Equestria Girls' parody needs to be mentioned, especially since it was made by The Hub to officially promote the show (using the actual singing voice for Pinkie Pie):

And speaking of official marketing moves, while there still aren't toys I'd consider buying (like decent plushies - or any toy where Applejack actually has a hat), they're coming up with some pretty incongruous efforts like Pinkie Pie branded toothpaste. That's an interesting decision, marketing toothpaste with a character who works at a bakery that specializes in sweets, is often found eating said products, and is usually hyperactive.

I was coming here to post that. It was hilarious. My 5 year old thought it was the coolest thing ever. We had just listened to the previous show of WWDTM where they also had a My Little Pony reference as far as her attention span knows they ALWAYS talk about My Little Pony on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.

Okay, I bit the bullet and decided to watch this. At first, I didn't really get it. I mean it was certainly nice and better than what is out there these days, but it wasn't something that I think I would be watching.

And then it kinda grew on me for some reason. I guess you can call myself a regular watcher.

I don't think I'll dabble in the fandom stuff. Those days are kinda past me...
