Num me vexo?' a phrase that's as sound as the dollar
As we left here, a small mystery at the University of Washington remained to be solved. It involved a stained-glass image of the nation's first president, George Washington, in the South Campus Center.
The window bears the inscription "Num Me Vexo?" which is Latin for "What, me worry?" a phrase that readers of Mad Magazine will recognize as the enduring wisdom of Alfred E. Neuman, the magazine's trademark nerd.
What was mysterious about the window was that nobody at the university was immediately able to say who perpetrated this small joke.
