Comment: Great job on this website. I am an independent and support
neither side. I am sick of all of the made-up stuff circulating about Obama now and Bush over the previous 8 years. You folks do a great service in proving or disproving some of these assertions. I reference your site weekly when I get all of the hate emails that circulate around the internet. Keep up the good work and never cease your search for the truth. |
Comment: I don't know how you do it, but I love it!
This is one of my all-time favorite sites. Keep up the good work! |
Comment: Thank you so much for being a resource that can help us sort
fiction from fact. You provide an important service, and illustrate how technology can serve information and communication purposes. |
Comment: I wanted to say 'Thank You' for the commitment and effort you
must expend in maintaining this site. I must admit that my visits are erratic. Sometimes I find myself here playing around as I do on YouTube. Other times I'm researching something I've seen on the web. But although at times I'm here looking for fun and entertainment, I most appreciate the site when responding to some fool a__ e-mail! I continue to be amazed that people pass on any and every thing without bothering to check the facts. AND, that's where you come in..... It's great to be able to send a link which includes references to other links when rebutting misinformation. Thanks again and keep up the good work! Cudos |
Comment: Than you for all you do. I visit your site often & usually end
up advising people who've sent me those silly false emails to go to Snopes.com before they forward alarming emails to others. Don't know how you do it, am grateful that you're so rliable! |
Comment: I know you probably receive myriad messages such as this, and
hardly need another, but I want to thank you for the countless hours of entertainment and edification, and for the impeccable fact checking. |
Comment: Just wanted to say how much I enjoy the articles by Barbara
Mikkelson - they are always well written, informative, impartial and balanced. In addition, I always have a laugh at whatever 'nickname' she adopts at the end of an article. Well done, Barbara! |
Comment: I would like to congratulate you on this site. I have found it
very informative and check with Snopes the authentisity of everything that comes to me via email, thus avoiding cloggging up other peoples inboxes with information that is not true. Thank you and keep up the good work. |
Comment: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING US ALL A PLACE TO STOP SOME OF
THESE RUMORS THAT GO ROUND AND ROUND FOR YEARS. There's so much bad in the world, I can't figure why people distort or make up more stuff to bring us all down and then want us to forward it and it's so easy to check it out with your site! I continue to check it and respond to these false ideas. |
Comment: Thanks for the very informative service that you provide.
|
Comment: Bravo! Your work is awesome and so helpful in dispelling silly,
falst and damaging rumors. I trust your work because you document your findings so thoroughly. Some of my friends have taken me off their mass distribution list because I research their forwarded claims in an instant. Upon disproving the umpteenth vicious story, I reply using "Reply All" to all the original recipients, send a link to the particular Snopes page that specifically dispels the rumor and make the purveyor look ridiculous. |
Comment: Thank you so much for the work that you do. It is truly a great
service to all of us. Good job! |
Comment: Hey my name is Emily and I would just like to say your website is

Comment: Thank you for the service you provide.

Comment: Hello,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the hard work you do at Snopes.com! Your article entitled "Cards for Recovering Soldiers" was especially well-done. Because Snopes.com posted that cards sent to Walter Reed would NOT make it to any recipients, and because you included the address of a program that WOULD accept such cards (Holiday Mail for Heroes), many soldiers are receiving the thanks and warm wishes they deserve, especially this time of year! A good hearted coworker of mine sent an email to everyone in the office asking for employees to send holiday cards to "Cards for Recovering Soldiers" and after a quick fact-check at Snopes, I replied back to her to let her know of your assessment. She sent out the info you supplied for Holiday Mail for Heroes, so hopefully the cards will make it to the correct address. Again, thanks for creating and maintaining such a great site! |
Comment: I love your site and appreciate being able to check to see if a
rumor is true or false. I also will send the link to the person that sends me a false email. I access the site quite often and also like the ads on the site. Thank you and Happy Holidays! |
Comment: Thank you for starting this site. I love everything about it. (I
have also torked quite a few people off with it, thier loss.) You two are wonderful! Keep up the great work! |
Comment: Dear snopes.com
My compliments and thanks for performing a most valuable service. Rarely a day goes by that some relative, friend or acquaintance does not forward an amazing story or news item to me that would be amazing if it were true. Sadly, they are indeed fiction, which I document with a link to snopes.com along with an admonishment to verify information before mindlessly spreading rumors and clogging the Internet with junk. Again, thank you. |
Comment: This is my first visit to your site, even though I have heard of
you many times. What a great job you are doing. I am an advocate of responsible emails and do my best to promote accurate and safe emailing. Once again, thank you for this. |
Comment: your sight is very helpfull tnx
