I have heard variants of this tale, such as the same thing happening at
Burger King.

Cocaine: $110/gram
McDonald's Fry-fries: $0.013/gram (dollar menu size)

Hmm...I'm gonna vote "not worth it"

So that's why my mouth feels numb after I eat them! Interesting...

Comment: I heard today from someone who claims to be "in the know" that
Taco Bell is the nation's largest buyer of ant protein. According to this
person, the protein is used as a meat additive/filler. Could you please
investigate this story?

Comment: A friend recently told me that a friend of his who used to work
at KFC swears that KFC marinates or soaks their chicken in penicillin.

It is mostly sugar, not cocaine. As far as children are concerned sugar may as well be cocaine for being addictive.

Comment: A friend told me that McDonalds is the worlds largest buyer of
cow vagina. Several friends have confirmed this to me... is it true?

BringTheNoise 28 March 2008 11:36 AM

Where are the meat processors selling these things? Who is farming ants for their meat? What sort of abatoir specifically cuts out the vagina for sale? Why do people believe this crap? (Answer the last question first ;) )

No, they really haven't. They've just repeated the same idiocy.
I shall now 'confirm' to you that you are a dunce.

Comment: I have been hearing a rumor lately that McDonald's burgers are
made of soy. Some of the rumors claim they are made of 85% soy, others
100%. Part of this rumor is that the "100% beef" commercials that came out
a few years ago were a clever lie, as the company that produced the soy
burgers was named "100% beef." I have never seen or heard of a source
mentioned or cited for these claims, and was wondering if there was any
verifying you folks could do.

1) Isn't soy more expensive than Beef?
2) Do you really thing the USDA is really going to let anybody get by with a company called "100% Beef" (do they even advertise their beef content?)?

Comment: I've heard that KFC's extra crispy chicken is actually old
chicken which has been re-breaded then refried and then sold as fresh.
Doesn't sound right to me, but who knows

It's actually new chicken that has been coated with old bread.

Cow vaginas? COW VAGINAS? I'm sorry but that's just too funny.

I do know that they put SOMETHING meat related in the fryer to fry french fries at McD's and other places because my sister is a Vegan and she can't eat fries even though they are supposed to only be potatoes and vegetable oil.

annabohly 10 July 2008 06:26 PM

It's been a while, but when I worked at McDonald's, the french fryer only was used for french fries and hashbrowns. It would seem as it still is, as the fryer is off to the side of the kitchen usually by the drive thru. All the other fried food is sent up from the back of the kitchen.

I have a son who works at McDonalds. According to him it is the same as it was then. They have a dedicated fries/hash brown fryer that contains 100% vegetable oil. They have stopped using beef extract, but do add flavorings to the fries that make them vegetarian but not vegan (diary products in the flavoring).
