Clymer’s tweets kicked up a whole separate dust storm of criticism and defense of the sheriff. Snopes compiled various views of Clarke’s attire, including critics and defenders.

While the pins are not truly military medals, one US general once said that the service members' uniforms are their resumes.

We don't have nearly as much "bling" on our dress uniforms as the US does. But every item on the uniform means something through merit, tradition or regulation.

What I see in this uniform is several tourist or commemorative pins, political statement pins and some "I attended a seminar" pins.

While, to the untrained eye, it may look impressive. To my eye it looks like someone making up his own uniform.

We need laws to keep these fakers from stealing the valor of people who are actual waiters at the Hard Rock Cafe.
