Updating Username
 

Since email doesn't seem to be working...

I would like to update my username.
I am transgender and don't go by Kirk anymore

I hope you're able to get a solution to this! Unfortunately I'm not sure it's possible to change a login name. I don't even know who the mods are anymore, or if we even have any, or I'd suggest sending them PMs.

You might try sending a PM to Four Kitties. She might be able to help.

Also, what would you like to be called on the board? We can start calling you that even if the user names sticks for a while.

Thank you you two. Everything has been going great.

I go by Karyn now.

I've emailed snopes twice over the past year (he says to wait a few months), but no response.

I know an admin can change a username but besides snopes, I didn't know who to contact.

You might want to post about this up in Unhijackable or somewhere so others know to use the correct name and pronouns. Unless, of course, you already have and I just missed it... :)

Thus avoiding the biggest problem of being transgender, having to change your monogrammed towels.

Not for towels, but yes I wanted to keep the same initials.

Hi Karyn! I'll try my best to remember your new name, but you might also consider signing your posts (see below) until snopes gets around to it or we all get the hang of it. Just my 2 cents.

Another few months have gone by and still nothing, not even a "no, we can't do that."

I tried creating a new account but it's been stuck in moderation for about a month.

I check every few weeks to see if your username has been updated. I've been tempted to note the lack of action in the Little Things That Annoy You thread.

I've done that before.
It's not really little any more.

We don't have a 'Big Things That Annoy You' thread

That's what Rantidote is for, the LTTAY thread was for things not big enough for its own thread.

Have you tried complaining about lack of attention to technical issues on the bulletin board on the facebook page? I sometimes think snopes and crew pay more attention to that than they do to this.
