Candy Heart messages written by a neural network

Quote:

I collected all the genuine heart messages I could find, and then gave them to a learning algorithm called a neural network. Given a set of data, a neural network will learn the patterns that let it imitate the original data - although its imitation is sometimes imperfect. The candy heart messages it producedů well, you be the judge.

I'm not sure they're much worse than the messages that come on the actual candy hearts.

I did enjoy a few of the pick-up lines apparently generated by a similar process:

"You are so beautiful that you know what I mean."

"You look like a thing and I love you."

Some of the ones in the "weird" section are great, but not for candy heart messages. Tweet up, bat! should definitely be a pep-phrase or greeting.

But I wander. Wirly oot.

I was just coming to post this today, being Valentine's Day and all, not realizing it had already been posted several days ago. Apparently I missed it earlier. But it looks like there are some new ones since this thread was first posted.

I thought we had also discussed the weird paint color names it generated last year (Like Stoner Blue, Stanky Bean, and Dorkwood), but I couldn't find that thread.

I'm pretty sure there's a need out there for candy hearts that say U Hack.

I haven't seen the NFBSK ones that it apparently also generated, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if someone actually made NFBSK candy hearts.

Ok, I spent most of my lunch break reading some of the other posts on her blog, and my coworkers must think I've gone crazy I was laughing so hard. Like the suggestions for names of bills that could be introduced in Massachusetts:

It is nice to see that Massachusetts is getting rid of their Death Panels, though:

The collection of Slashdot headlines is also pretty good.

You know, I really hope this story makes it into Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me this weekend, because I really want to hear Bill Kurtis say "love 2000 hogs yea."
