Jesus and Virgin Mary sightings

Mark Resembling Virgin Mary Draws Faithful

To the faithful, the Virgin Mary appears as an apparition on a retaining wall attached to Freddy Montero's garage.

Nah, it's obviously a penis. Where are those folks who examine the Disney films when this is going on?

In a related vein, I had a call yesterday, it turned out to be a wrong number, but caller ID showed it to be "Pedro Sanchez". I had a compulsion to answer it, what was it? Seeking to know if he had seen a vision of the Blessed Virgin? Wondering if I was being punked?

Gah, the mind boggles at the possibilities.

I thought it looked a bit like Mr. Peanut myself.

Ooh ... this gives me a chance to test out HTML tags:

<font size=6 color=red>THAT IS NOT JESUS! STOP SEEING HIM EVERYWHERE!</font>

(Sorry, but people should know by now how much these appearances annoy me.)

Why do you hate Mr. Peanut so?

Canuckistan 26 December 2006 06:09 AM

Mr. Peanut promised to call. He said I'd be different.

I wasn't.

Mr. Peanut broke my heart!

I hope my Holy Toast arrives soon, I'm going to make a killing! http://www.stupid.com/stat/HLTS.html

They can perform miracles, but delivery before Christmas wasn't one of them. :(

(Is there a trick to changing the url to a phrase? I can't figure it out)

Yup. For www.yourwebpage.com, add [url=yourwebpage.com] to the beginning, and [ /url] at the end (without the space, of course).

Starla 26 December 2006 06:37 PM

I get it now

When I use the board's "insert link," instead of the prompt to add a phrase, it automatically repeats the url. So I just need to change url after the one in quotes and I get my phrase.

That may have just made sense to only me. :)

Then don't look at this story: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...4-2862,00.html

Florida Residents See Jesus Image in Tree

Man-made religious decorations are a common sight at this time of year, but the image on a tree in an Arlington man's front yard is natural and some neighbors have begun calling it a holy tree.

If they are so full of faith why do they feel the desperate need to flock to these ridiculous simulacra

It seems quite silly to me.

On the other hand, I have a newfound reverence for a certain purple dinosaur.

Well, no, because the article clearly says it is the Virgin Mary. :p

That being said, though, I see Jesus. He looks a lot like his mom.

annabohly 24 January 2007 02:57 PM

I think if you look hard enough, you can find the images anywhere. At my parent's home in Alabama, in the paneling in the bathroom, you can see Jesus.

I thought about that afterward. That's just my stock phrase that I stick in. Who knew other religious icons would taunt the faithful with appearances in foodstuffs and synthetic materials!

I see faces in most wood paneling.
