People who don't get the concept

Comment: Pin numbers in reverse

Another reason this is not a good idea: Your pin number in reverse MIGHT BE MY legal number.

Yes, because as it is, every single person just happens to choose a random PIN that is different from anyone else's.

Because we're sick, sick people with nothing better to do, of course.

That's an interesting, vaguely related point. How many combinations can a 4-digit PIN have?

10000.

0000 - 9999.

(You may now be slightly embarrassed you asked...)

I'm embarassed that I did the math (10x10x10x10) instead of doing it the simple way.

I think we are too used to working combinations out where letters and other symbols are used. Then you do need the maths.

It is a sign of you both being deep thinkers :)

LOL, we all do that.

Watching some drama where the heroes interviewed members of a jury and the one they wanted was the last guy they talked to, I disbelieving asked hubby "What would be the odds it'd be the LAST guy they talked to?"

He looked at me like I was stupid and said "One in twelve ..."

Isnt it actually less than that? I'm fairly sure that numbers like 0000, 1111, 2222, and 1234 are blocked and cant be used as a PIN. Am I wrong?

It's a plot to steal your cat so we can paint it and put it in a jar. Then we'll do it to your dog. And then we will give them a bath and dry them in the microwave. And there's nothing you can do about it. Because we secretly rule the world.

They advise against using them, but I don't think they actually block them.

I've got the perfect PIN.

It's the last four digits of pi.

We actually misspelled the word dope.

See the irony?

No?

Didn't think so.

Comment: I would like to comment on the article about murdering madmen.
The line about gang members riding with their lights off and killing
whoever flashes them is 100% true. It is a initiation method with the gang
BLOOD. They send their designated person out and tell him to drive without
their lights off, then the first person to flash him they are to follow
them home and kill everyone in the house. Please change this immediatly
because this is a big deal and people who read this could be in danger.

Yeah, but there are only so many times we can get away with groping God while resting in him before he gets angry.

I'd steer clear of him for a little while. After Friday night at Jack's place, he's in a smiting mood!

Comment: although I think you provide a wonderful service to those of us
using the internet, I question the article I just read - you have grouped
what may be a variation of an old hoax with a different company but
haven't shown any research to support what may indeed be a new problem. If
you DID research the "new" problem you should support your claim. while
the "Oscar Meyer" hot dog problem may be a twist of the "Starbucks"
problem HOW CAN WE BE SURE of that? All you have done (or at least it
LOOKS LIKE all you have done) is say that someone substituted the company
and food and perpetuated an old hoax. How do we know it is a hoax? Isn't
it possible that Oscar Meyer screwed up?

my job entails working on a daily basis with veterans and ONLY veterans,
many of which are returning Iraqi Freedom (OIF)vets. if oscar meyer is
innocent I will gladly support them but if they did what is alleged...

I received the information from another veteran (who also works
exclusively with vets) - please clarify your research on this particular
food for me. I don't want to keep a hoax going but don't see evidence of
(or reference to) your contact with Oscar Meyer questioning the alleged
incident.

Comment: This is about your article on Osama at:
http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/osama.asp

The status says: Real, but outdated

Last I checked, Osama has not been captured, so the pictures would in fact
be a hoax.

On this page you have a picture of the Shutterfly.com website. As a
professional photographer who sells photos through this website I'm
concerned because it appears that Shutterfly is somehow related to the
scam described in the article. And yet nowhere in the article does it
mention Shutterfly.com. Don't you think there should be some explanation?
I think that if they're not related to the article/scam described, then
your article could make people apprehensive about purchasing through their
site.

Comment: I would like to ask you people there @ Snopes, that if you "know"
that an email story like the "Ashley Flores" story is a "Hoax" then why
don't you people come out with an email of your on, get it circulated
around to all the "news" people, saying that ii is "false" & a "hoax",,
then unsupecting folks like myself, won't get taken by this kind of "crap"
put out by these stupid people that call themselves reporters,,OK??

Ya, Snopes, why don't you create a mailing list and e-mail people who subscribe all the latest UL information? Send it out, say, once a week. Wouldn't that be a great idea?

What do you mean you already do it? :D

"No," it's "not" "okay." Especially "since" it's "false" & a hoax (no quotation marks).

Then there could be a website to debunk and discuss ULs...

Don't we all just do that ourselves? I am pretty much off everyone's group emails here at work. A little snopes can unclutter your Inbox!

Please update this information. One of our staff members has received
telemarketer calls on her cell phone in the last few days, and I have
received text messages from telemarketers on mine. Costs money!
