Hey Prude

Comment: Hi
I just found this site, and was enjoying it very much until I decided to
hit random and the page that came up was entitled What the ****, and went
on to detail how the word **** came about....
I am no prude by any means, but I was shocked that this came up with no
warning. What if my 9 or 10 year old was looking through this?
Please put a warning on pages like this that contain language that can be
offensive, that way we can avoid it if we need to.

Please supervise your child's internet use. YOU are an adult (theoretically). Grow the hell up and start acting like one. Did you think What the **** meant "what the meat" or "what the hose?" Yeesh.

Well, quite possibly, your 9- or 10-year-old would learn some factual and interesting information about the origin of the word, removing much of the mystery from it and decreasing the chances that your 9- or 10-year-old will use it for prurient effect on you or others.

Comment: I have recently heard a rumor that the last Harry Potter book is
going to have some sort of sexually explicit scene involving Harry and one
of the female characters. Needless to say, this shocked me, as the Harry
Potter series was intended for children; the thought of a sex scene in a
children's book is, to say the least, appalling to me. I am hoping that
this is no more than a rumor, and that Harry will keep it in his pants
throughout the series.

It's okay -- the sexually explicit scene actually involves Harry and one of the male characters.

It's "what's the buzz" as in "tell me what'sa happening what's the buzz".

Yeah, snopes, get on it. You are in charge of these things, aren't you?

That's right! It can't be a legitimate rumor unless we say so.

Clearly, this person never read the Alana series of books by Tamora Pierce. Also in the "young adult" section, its sex scenes were not graphic or anything, but they were there... and I think the kids involved may even have been under 18. *exaggerated gasp* Although they could have been juuust over. Plus there was crossdressing! *swoon*

Ohhhhh... see, I should have got that, because the complainer's obvious lack of grammar and syntax should have told me that they would add an erroneous "'s" where none existed. Naughty iguana... pay attention!

Damn you....Now I have that song stuck in my head, but can't remember much more than that line.
I forget the title, as well.

Curses to you!!! :p

Am I the only one singing the thread title to the tune of "Hey Jude?"

Comment: I do not know whether you know about this, but an advertizer is
showing softcore pornography on their advertizements. I see this website
as a very entertaining and fairly wholesome website (despite occasionally
being thouroughly shocking ;) ), but this advertizement makes the pages
uncomfortable to read and diminishes the professionality of the site. The
advertizement links to
http://games.cosmopolitan.com/games/...0_games_01_cas

and has the text "cosmopolitangames, cosmo's boytoy, play it for free"
while showing a mildly pornographic image of a muscular man in a flirtive
pose.

Please remove it from your website!

This is the "mildly pornographic image" the correspondent is complaining about:

The onion made a fake news video about that, so thats probably where she got that idea.

I'm always amused by the complaints that you can see something you can pretty much sea on any beach any summer day anyway. I mean okay, sometimes a bikini isn't the wisest choice for a particular setting, but it's hardly pornographic.

Oooo, run .... a man's naked chest!!!

Well it's not every day you see a guy in a bikini on the beach. Not that I would have a problem with that (and it's not every day I go down the beach.) :p

Johnny Slick 07 August 2007 07:59 AM

If I wanted to see rock-hard man abs I would gaze longingly into the bathroom mirror before taking a shower!*

*Theoretical argument that implies I have a six-pack and not what is lovingly referred to as a "keg".
