Nun Busted For Smuggling Cocaine in High Heels, Blames Internet Lover

I have nothing to say about the story, but you can't let a headline like this go unnoticed.

Nun Busted For Smuggling Cocaine in High Heels, Blames Internet Lover

Quote:

A Missouri nun—who was busted attemping to smuggle two pounds of cocaine into Australia—claims she was tricked into committing the crime by a lover she met on the internet.

Wonder if this nun was in the habit of meeting people online. :fish: Or is it a wimple case of naivete?
I'm trying to imagine a nun in high heels.

UEL 15 August 2018 03:08 PM

I guess the vow of silence allowed her to flirt online.

In reality, though, she is a novice smuggler.

Ba dum dup

No need to imagine:

I'm trying to remember if any of the sisters who taught at my school wore heels, but can think of nun. In fact, just talking about it would make them cross.

Alright, there'll be nun of that.

ETA: It's getting to be a bad habit.

ChasFink 15 August 2018 05:57 PM

Her actions were unconventional, but I think the authorities should be lenient if she had no priory convictions. I pray that she has learned her lesson and everything will come up rosary for her in the end.

No, Sister Sara, wrong kind of 'mules.'

ChasFink 15 August 2018 06:15 PM

Fun's over, folks. The story has been corrected to point out that - strictly speaking - she's not a nun, just a member of a religious order. :(

You can't order us around.

There was mass confusion until the story was corrected. :fish:

GenYus234 15 August 2018 07:30 PM

I'm still seeing the old story, must be an issue with the host.

DawnStorm 16 August 2018 12:39 PM

Guess we'll have to wafer a correction.

ChasFink 16 August 2018 03:13 PM

Well at least now that we know she wasn't a nun it explains her lover: Since she didn't take solemn vows, the church considers her a lay person. ;)

UEL 16 August 2018 03:17 PM

I believe that last post was out of the order.

ChasFink 16 August 2018 03:41 PM

If you think it was inappropriate as is, I'll altar it.

Serious note. I just realized that the woman whose image appears in the video at the head of that article is not, and looks nothing like, the nun in question. Why do they do that?

The image in the article is of a "[black] woman locked up after blaiming wind for cocaine." Meanwhile, this is what Denise Marie Woodrum (the actual subject of the article) looks like:

I noticed the discrepancy in the image (actually a very slow video feed) as well. I thought it was just a random feed and unrelated to the story, but the same wind and cocaine video is still there. Odd.

By the way, I wonder if anyone has ever blamed cocaine for wind?

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "inherit the wind." Although it kind of makes sense in its original biblical context...

Who nose? I'm sure Google has the answer though.

"Does cocaine make you fart? Asking for a friend."
