religious beliefs ?

I don't believe that exemptions based on conscientious objection on religious grounds have been held in the past to be unconstutional, but this probably will raise some interesting questions.

There seems to be an exemption provision for the "Individual Responsibility" section of the bill for members of 'recognized religious sects'. There will be the old questions again about who says what constitutes a religion, as always happens with religious exemptions from laws.
I dislike the bill on a large number of grounds, but I like some of what it tried to do. I'm no constitutional scholar, so I'll have to study and watch how things unfold.
