At house fire, man tells news crew: ‘I set it on fire’

A man on the scene of a roaring house fire approached an ABC7 News crew Wednesday and confessed to setting the home ablaze.

"Me! Me! I set it on fire," said the young adult man, who would only identify himself as, "Carlos."

I wonder if he'll get his damage deposit back.

Easiest fire investigation ever

Probably, but then, as with most confessions, especially those too-eagerly given, there should be follow-up to see if the guy really knows details that confirm he did it.

He apparently said several times that he burned the place due to conditions there, and one neighbor said there were frequent emergency vehicle visits there. It appears he was a renter, so is it that hard to get out of a lease in Maryland - particularly when it seems other rooms in the place are rented out to very unruly tenants - that the guy could not have reasonably have just cleared out?

You always do the cause investigation but the hardest part is often finding who lit the fire and getting them to confess.

The way that he is just reacting to everything around him makes me believe that this man has some serious mental problems. I am not entirely sure if he has mental health issues or if this is someone who has manage to reach his breaking point, but something is clearly off.
