Snakes on a plain

Comment: rumour about a highway between Sudbury ON and Toronto ON, could
be highway 69 or 400, that gets so covered by snakes that it appears to be
moving and gets so slippery it is hard to travel on. It may have been a
one time occurance or happens seasonally. I don't believe it to be true,
but was told this by my sister.

A Google search turned up this: http://www.uhaul.com/SuperGraphics/6...oba/Lifesavers.

Also this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manitoba_Highway_17

It's in Manitoba on Highway 17, not Ontario Highway 69 or Highway 400, but sounds otherwise to be what the OP was talking about.

This is not too far from my hometown. I've seen thousands of snakes in bundles in that area. It is not that well travelled a road being in the interlake, but it is something worth seeing.
